The Third Van

Last night we were quite excited to be picking up our latest edition to the hilbarn fleet (which includes Guido the 1979 Ford Transit, and Versace the 1983 Ford Econovan). We were kindly invited to rescue this cute-as-a-button Morris Commercial J-Type from Leonie and Ross' backyard bush shed where it's been resting up for some decades, with spiders and snakes as company. Leonie says Ross picked up the former baker's van in 1977 for $60. It's been all the way to Bruny Island (and back!) from Pipers River, and even picked up two hitchhikers on Bridport Road. We're not sure, yet, if he'll ever be roadworthy again, but he's viewable on Sundays parked at the hilbarn collectables store - a lovable work in progress. Thanks to Leonie, Ross and Kate for helping Morris J find a new home! Now, if you could just help us to name him... Or, is it a her? A complimentary hilbarn fresh produce box will go to the most fitting suggestion.

Nothing beats 'Morris', it even sounds like an old school farmer's name. He was born a Morris, died a Morris and will be reborn a Morris.

Even though I think Morris J Esquire might be his name, I think he would be called Morrie.
