Right now, Hil's young blueberry plants are tiny but lush with berries. Planted in autumn they've thrived in the wetness of winter, while hopefully surviving the worst of what the rabbits had to offer. We'll have true blueberries in hilbarn's fresh fruit boxes this Christmas - from established growers in nearby Lebrina.

OK, I give up. Tell me what the bunch of big green leaves are in the box today...
We had a mix of a few different bunches of big green leaves, including: pak choi, kale and Chinese spinach (with purplish leaves). We reckon you're talking about the Chinese spinach Jo. Lucky you - we could only get half a dozen bunches this week.
Wel, that is a new one to me. Do I cook it like other spinach and greens? I have the one that has stems like broccoli.
Actually it sounds like you had the choy sum (Chinese flowering cabbage) - great in a stir fry. Or there's a Kylie Kwong recipe you could try:

Oh dear, have just learned from a blueberry grower that fruit on first year blueberry plants should be taken off! Seems heartless, but if it means the plant is stronger in the end...cruel to be kind and all that...the things you learn from Nature!
